The Shadow Project Warehouse

Shadow and books Incentives for The Shadow Project are stored in donated warehouse space. Assisted by Shadow Project board members, participating teachers select items to help their students succeed in school. Shadow the Wonder Pup was on hand to greet teachers for the first major selection day last fall.

Wall of toys

The incentives are grouped into categories: gifts that the students give to a family member, school supplies, art supplies, books and magazines, holiday items (including holiday gifts) and toys. The Shadow Project is able to offer highly desirable incentives, as we purchase everything at deep discounts, having established relationships with numerous vendors. We also receive generous donations of goods from such businesses as Christmas at the Zoo and Safeway on Woodstock.

Beautiful Bears

The Shadow Project uses a reward system through which success becomes tangible as students earn points for having a good attendance record, completing their homework, and using good social skills. Cuddly stuffed animals -- these were donated by Christmas at the Zoo-- inspire students to do their best.

Gifts
Ceramic teapots and glass vases from Egypt are popular gifts for mom and grandma. Kids love to surprise dad or grandpa with baseball caps, tools, books, and flip-flops.

Teachers consider the special interests and needs of their students while selecting incentives.

Teacher Teachers

Nationwide, one in three students with a learning disability drops out of school. With your help, we can lower the odds.
