DD/MH-Traditional Health Worker Coordinator, Oregon Home Care Commission

Yetu is a DD/MH-Traditional Health Worker Coordinator for the Oregon Home Care Commission (OHCC). Prior to OHCC, she was a victim advocate for Lutheran Community Services Northwest, and a program manager for IRCO (the Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization). Yetu previously taught at Grandview Academy, and worked at a foster home. She has a diploma in practical nursing, and numerous certifications in community, mental health, and leadership.

Yetu joined The Shadow Project board in 2018, and is passionate about equity and inclusion for youth who experience barriers to success. In her work as a teacher and mentoring gang youth, Yetu discovered firsthand how young people with mental health issues, and other disabilities can feel discouraged in school, and need more support, so they can stay on a path of purpose.
