Reading Mentor Timber Joey Makes Books Come Alive

Timber Joey has been volunteering with The Shadow Project for over 3 years. During the Portland Timbers off season, he serves as a Reading Mentor to Portland-area elementary students who are struggling with reading.

Kids love his warm demeanor and his larger than life job as the Timbers’ mascot.

Having faced his own challenges with reading to an audience, Timber Joey brings his unique perspective and desire to help kids reach their full potential to his role as a Reading Mentor. “Helping kids reach their potential is a very special experience,” says Joey.

We’re so grateful to Timber Joey for being such a stellar Reading Mentor!
