Give!Guide Is Here: Give Local to Help Kids Thrive in School

We are back. So back. Back in Willamette Week’s Give!Guide, that is.

Portland’s favorite giving campaign has launched and you’re invited! You don’t want to miss this. Over 280 nonprofits are participating and there are many days and ways to win fun incentives, all while supporting the incredible missions of your favorite organizations.

Where can I donate?

Donate to The Shadow Project right here and help us reach our goal of $10,000! Be sure to check out the other great nonprofits that are participating, like Literary Arts, because you can add multiple donations to your cart and checkout with one payment, just like you normally shop online. Only this time, everything in your cart is a gift!

What does my gift go towards?

Your gift(s) will go towards funding our school programs that provide neuroinclusive tools and resources to educators and students. Each program is designed to support children with learning differences in feeling confident and engaged with their education. Learn more about Goal Setting, SuperSensory Spaces, and Reading Mentors.

What is WW’s Give!Guide?

In a nutshell, Give!Guide is Portland’s easiest path to end-of-year giving. Mark your calendars, the campaign begins on November 1 and closes strictly at midnight on December 31.

Willamette Week runs the show in their annual effort to raise funds for — and draw attention to — the good works of local nonprofits. This campaign has raised more than $64 million for hundreds of local nonprofits since its inception in 2004.

What are “Big Give Days?”

give big days

When you donate to us on a Big Give Day, you’ll be entered to win an exciting prize from a generous local business sponsor. Check out all the amazing prizes for the upcoming Big Give Days here!

PS – there’s no limit!

  • Make a dozen $10 donations, you’re entered 12 times. This could be 1 transaction (a dozen different nonprofits in the cart at once) or during a dozen different transactions (one nonprofit at a time… maybe us 12 times in a row?)
  • Make one $120 donation, you’re entered once.

Plus, if you are 35 or younger, you will have extra chances to win!

Nonprofit Partners

We’re in good company! Give!Guide brings together more than 280 local nonprofits doing incredible things for our community. Here are a couple of organizations whose work we’re especially excited to cheer on.

Literary Arts inspires readers, supports writers, and helps young people discover the power of stories and their own voices. We love that they’re making space for creativity, self-expression, and a lifelong love of reading.

Friends of Outdoor School works to make outdoor learning accessible to every Oregon student, giving kids opportunities to explore, discover, and learn beyond the classroom. We’re big fans of making sure every kid gets a chance to experience the world around them!

Different missions, but a shared belief that every kid deserves the chance to discover what they’re capable of.

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating success for all students!

The Shadow Project envisions an education system that normalizes and celebrates learning differences, and supports every student to thrive in school. Learn more about our school-based programs for students with disabilities.
