Sophie Kuhnau
Outreach Intern
Sophie is a junior at the University of Oregon studying psychology with a strong interest in human behavior and learning. For the past five summers, she’s worked with the nonprofit Bike First, to help kids with disabilities learn to ride bikes. That experience taught her the importance of meeting people where they are and celebrating every kind of success, which is what drew her to The Shadow Project’s mission. Born and raised in Portland, she loves spending time outdoors, whether that’s berry picking on Sauvie Island, swimming in the Sandy River, hiking in the Gorge, or having picnics at Mt. Tabor with friends. At home, you’ll usually find her hanging out with her golden retriever, Milo, or picking up a new hobby like bouldering, harmonica, or guitar.
